Can We Make Quick Keto Cereal?

https://www.ketochow.xyz/ref/lindseymurphy

Is there anything quite like that childhood memory of pouring a bowl of cereal and plopping down in front of the tv for some Saturday morning cartoons?

I can’t think of any.

I wasn’t ever the kid who went “coo-coo for Cocoa Puffs”, but I did love Cinnamon Toast Crunch and Apple Jacks. Dry, mind you… with a glass of milk on the side.

As I’ve gotten older, those nostalgic things have recaptured my heart.

When you want a cereal crunch, there aren’t many things that will really satisfy that craving.

There are multiple brands of “Keto” cereal on the grocery store shelves, but they usually have weird ingredients and are expensive.

I have made numerous batches of keto friendly cereals over the past 8+ years. And they’ve worked really well! But my recipe (that I’ll share some day) does take some preplanning and time… many hours in the dehydrator… it’s a whole process. I’m looking for a quick keto cereal.

What I really was wanted to be able to seize my cereal craving and satisfy it from the jump.

After a few trial runs, I created a recipe that was perfect for quick keto cereal… only about 20 minutes from craving to crunch! P.E.R.F.E.C.T!

Y’all may be aware that I love KetoChow and they have a plethora of amazing flavors that inspire me regularly.

Well, their newest limited edition flavor, Fruity Cereal was the perfect flavor to bring this recipe to fruition (ha).

The recipe works well with any sweet flavor of KetoChow, or you can go the “crouton” route with their savory flavors if you’re craving a crunch on your salad.

I’ve also tried this recipe with other milk protein powders and it works well. So, if you want to try this with something you already have on hand, go for it! Swap a single serving of a protein powder you like for the KetoChow. You may need to adjust the measurements a little, but I know you’ve got this!

Quick Low Carb Cereal!

If you follow a keto diet, cereal isn't on the menu any longer... or is it! This quick keto friendly cereal will give you all the cereal satisfaction without jeopardizing your health goals.

Ingredients

Instructions

  • Preheat your air fryer. Line a cookie sheet that will fit your air fryer with parchment. Set aside.
  • In a bowl, combine liquid egg whites, cream of tartar, and allulose. Whip into very stiff peaks with an electric hand mixer.
  • Fold your serving of KetoChow (the limited edition Fruity Cereal flavor is awesome if you can get your hands on it!) into the beaten egg white mixture.
  • Pour your batter onto the parchment paper. Spread the batter into about a ½" thickness. Try to keep those edges nice and tidy to keep a consistent thickness.
  • Air Fry your cereal batter at 320℉ for 8 minutes. Flip the baked cereal over on the parchment paper and continue baking at 320℉ for another 2-4 minutes.
  • Test the cereal for doneness. Allow it to cool.
  • Cut the cereal into small cubes. Arrange the pieces on parchment paper in a single layer. Microwave at full power for 1 minute.
  • Take the cereal from the microwave, stir the pieces to break them apart. Arrange them in a single layer and microwave for 1 minute more.
  • If you'd like a crunchier cereal, continue microwaving in 15-30 second bursts, stirring as you go. If you over-microwave the cereal pieces, they will burn so tread with caution.
  • Pour your cereal pieces in a bowl and add your favorite low carb milk. Enjoy having your childhood memories unlocked!
